BEFORE YOU CONTACT US
Start with what you know
You do not need to choose a material or diagnose the attic to make an enquiry. Describe the space, the concern and your Mississauga postal code. The answers below explain the enquiry process; the independent contractor confirms the terms of an assessment and any proposed work.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Choosing the first visit
Can I request only an attic inspection?
Yes. Explain whether you need a quotation assessment or a documented inspection. Those services may differ in fee and scope. The inspection guide lists questions to ask before booking.
Are estimates or inspections always free?
No fee promise is made by this website. Confirm any visit or reporting charge directly with the contractor before scheduling.
What if I do not know the insulation type?
Say that it is unknown. Do not move or sample material for an enquiry. Share any existing assessment or photographs already obtained safely.
Can a condominium owner arrange the work?
Authority depends on ownership and management responsibilities. Establish approval for the relevant assembly and access before the contractor schedules work.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Understanding the proposal
What is the difference between a top-up and blown-in insulation?
A top-up describes adding to retained material; blown-in describes an installation method. The top-up page and blown-in page address those separate decisions.
Does a quote include air sealing and the hatch?
Only if those items are included in the written scope. Ask for locations, access limits and the hatch details to be stated rather than inferred.
Can I assume a rebate will cover part of the invoice?
Confirm eligibility, timing and payment responsibilities with the official program and contractor. Use the rebate guide before work begins.
Who signs the installation agreement?
You agree to any assessment or installation terms directly with the independent provider. The website’s enquiry form does not form an installation contract.
YOUR QUESTIONS
During and after the work
Do I need to climb into the attic before a visit?
No. Ask which occupied areas need clearing for access. Leave roof-space entry and material handling to appropriately equipped professionals.
What if a new condition changes the work?
The contractor should explain the finding, its effect on scope and price, and the approval needed before additional work proceeds. Agree on that process when accepting the proposal.
Which records should I keep?
Keep the written scope, agreed changes, invoice, product information and promised completion records. The completion checklist helps organize them.
Will a specific comfort improvement be guaranteed?
Do not assume one from a service description. Ask what the assessment supports and what any written contractor warranty actually covers.
